• The world is on track to invest a record $2.2 trillion in clean energy technology this year, more than double the amount invested in fossil fuels and more than four times the amount invested in renewables a decade ago. Solar investments are expected to reach $450 billion globally in 2025, outpacing the investment for any other energy source.

• The ongoing transition from fossil fuels to renewables represents the fastest energy transformation in human history, outpacing every previous large-scale shift on record. While the transitions from muscle energy to wood-burning to coal and finally oil each took decades or even longer to see through, experts say the broad global shift to renewables is happening much faster.
